The solar power installation in Turkey reached by the end of October of the year 2019, 5.592 MW and electricity production based on solar energy in our country’s installed capacity grabbed 5 percent. In the first 10 months of this year, our share of electricity production from renewable energy was 64 percent and 46 percent of this figure comes from renewable energy.
In order to build a solar power plant with a capacity of 1,000 MW in Karapınar district, the contractor company (Kalyon Energy) started to work on the construction of infrastructure and switchyard. In Konya Karapinar, thousand megawatts of energy production will be provided an at the end of our 3-year construction, it will add great value to the country. Also, Kalyon Energy, which won the YEKA GES-1 tender, signed an agreement with Chinese CETC for its integrated solar panel factory in Ankara. This is YEKA GES-1 tender. This will be a factory to produce photovoltaic panels will be built in Ankara Organized Industrial Zone within the scope of YEKA Project.-The first domestic solar panel production in Turkey will begin in April 2020.
We have a significant number of domestic producers and we are developing day by day in terms of industry. With these developments, we expect a total installed capacity of 950 MW as a licensed and unlicensed plant at the end of 2019 and an investment of 750 million dollars. We expect an investment of 600-650 thousand dollars per MW in the mini YEKA tender to be announced in December. In this case, the total investment can be $ 650 million for 1000 MW.
We anticipate that the competitions to be held in small capacity in Mini YEKA tenders will be held in a highly competitive environment and that these investments will be realized in 2021-2022. The tender will be held on April 20, 2020.
